When the children turn on the faucet....

So apparently, at some point, the children turned the outdoor faucet on and "forgot" to turn it off.  We have a hose splitter on the faucet and both were turned off, but the faucet itself was left on.  Well we had a "Polar Vortex" here and it got pretty cold.  At some point, while Beki was away doing the shopping, the gasket failed on the host splitter and water was spraying all over the front of the house.  Since it was so cold, it froze when it hit anything.  When Beki got home, the spraying water was discovered and turned off.  Thankfully there was no permanent damage, but it did make quite a large addition to our water bill.

Random Pictures in December

Here are a few pictures from December that I found.

Chris teaching the boy how to chop wood - yes, with the ax.  No one lost any limbs.

Lego building!

Making cupcakes using Papa Coins' silicone baking cups.

Brookside Gardens Christmas Lights

We went with our friends to Brookside Gardens Winter Garden Aglow.  They had lots of beautiful lights and a model train display.  We had a great time seeing all the garden themed displays and watching all the trains.

Boxing Day - Washington DC Temple Lights

We went on Boxing Day this year with our friends to see the lights at the Washington DC Temple.  They were beautiful as usual and we had a good time.

New Year's Day 2014

We spent time with our good friends eating good food, playing at the park, playing some Wii, and watching "Wreck It Ralph".  It was a good day.  Hopefully the rest of the year goes as smoothly.
