The Calm Before the Storm

Before we get to the Awesome that was Owen's Birthday Party, let's catch up on what was happening before hand.

Owen's Best Friend Dean and his little brother Scott came over so their parents could have a moment of sanity. Scott wanted to ride in the car, but it wasn't going, so Owen gave him a little push...

Not too sure what the boy's were trying to accomplish here, but I bet you can figure out how it ended. (I'll give you a hint, it did not end well for Dean.)

When the Boys noticed the sprinkler (it had been going for about 10 minutes) all thoughts of bikes were lost and some impromptu sprinkler running needed to happen.

 Wet and Soggy!!!

We inherited some badminton rackets  - but the boy thinks they are tennis rackets.

Why are we playing at night? Because it is too hot to be out during the day of course!!

This is what our windows look like every morning. Usually this happens in the winter when it is cold outside and nice and warm inside. We have it in reverse - it is 90+ degrees most days this last week, with over 60% humidity, it is like being in a sauna all day.

To beat the heat we got out a pool for the boy...

But then we had a little "Give a Mouse a Cookie" moment. Just being in the pool wasn't enough - then he needed some toys.

While the boy was swimming, I was busy trying to get the swingset in order.

We eventually got the slides and ladders and things on it (at midnight the night before the party) but there are more things going to happen to this in the future!!!
