Pancake Day and End of Basketball

Since the boy does go to Catholic school, we figured that we might as well celebrate Shrove Tuesday (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shrove_Tuesday) by eating pancakes for dinner.  Owen LOVES pancakes and normally eats one every morning for breakfast.  He normally has them with peanut butter and syrup.  This time he got a little more creative: pancakes with crumbled bacon on top.  Papa was sad that he hadn't thought of it first and Mommy was slightly discusted, but he at it all.

He was pretty tired since this was pancake number 2.

Yum!!!!

Owen had an 8 week long basketball season and played 7 games (one was canceled due to ice).  Chris had an entire rant about how the league was run, but since he is WAY too busy doing other things, he will have to rant later.  Mommy was pretty bad and didn't get a lot of pictures during the season - mostly because he hardly ever touched the ball and he complained about his ALL THE TIME!  When he did get the ball, he would dribble around F...O...R...E...V...E...R - he couldn't make baskets and the other kids were usually much bigger than him, but he could dribble really well, so he did.

Owen is number 4.  This is was defense looked like.  The only player doing what they are supposed to do is the kid in the middle.

One of the few times that Owen got the ball and of course he is dribbling.

The coaches gave all the players certificates that highlighted their improvements and contributions to the team.  Owen was give the award for "Best Ball Handling and Clock Management".  Since Papa was the coach, he thought it was pretty funny.  Owen can suck clock like no other!!!

Team picture with their certificates.

Try 2.  Notice that the boy is not cooperating in either of them.

Over all, it was a good season.  When we ask Owen if he had fun, he always says, "Yes!", even though he did a lot of whining along the way.  He will do it again next year, but we don't know if Papa will coach again.
