We were lucky enough to have Grandma Nettie and the Brown Family (Tyler, Carisa & Weston) come visit for 7 days during Easter. We hit all the monuments, Arlington Cemetery, and Alexandria. It was a great time and we really loved having family come visit. Here is a barrage of pictures of their visit.
National Sculpture Garden.
The reflecting pool between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial is under construction ;( but hopefully it will be done before we move.
National Floral Library.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt Monument. This was a new one for us and it is probably our favorite now.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Monument. Again a new one for us. It was a fitting monument to an amazing man.

Vietnam Memorial.
Random fountain by the Elipse. The birds were bathing.
Owen got to play some Mario Cart Wii with Grandma Nettie.

On the metro headed for the fireworks for the Cherry Blossom Festival.
The boats were decorated in all things Cherry Blossom. It was really neat.

The open air seafood market that is down in the Waterfront area. It was..... interesting.....
For Easter Owen received Lego Star Wars underpants and a Legos Death Start with a Tie Fighter.

We took them to the Washington DC temple grounds.
Chris was listening to the end of some sports game on Tyler's fancy phone while we were there.
We also went to the National Cathedral, a new things for us. It was very impressive. It sustained a lot of damage in the earthquake a while back and is still being repaired.
A different day we headed to Arlington National Cemetery. While the others were watching the changing of the guard, W and Beki hung out.
At Arlington House. This is in the process of being restored, but has been severely delayed because of earthquake damage. ;( We are really hoping that they finish is before we move.
Downtown Alexandria.
Quick trip to the George Washington Masonic Memorial, another new thing for us. It was a really cool building and we might need to come back on a day when it is open and you can take tours. Same with the National Cathedral.
On the Metro headed home. We discovered that if you sit at the very front of the train and look out the window, you can see out front and watch the tracks, tunnels, etc. Owen now insists on sitting here every time we are on the Metro.
It was a really nice trip and we wish that it could have been longer, but we are all busy and have to get back to working to pay the bills.

Your post repeatedly mentions moving. We miss you. We miss touring DC. Clint worked across the street from National Geographic for 3 years and we never made it. I know: we're lame.
